Please it is too early for this...

1.) Having a foot of snow in the driveway and having to haul all the groceries up the driveway in a sled because the car wont make it up...

2.)Negative temps

3.) Buying ridiculous amounts of heating oil what seams like everyday.

4.)
If Daddy leaves for work and we get another pile of snow after he has plowed I either don't go any where or shovel the entire driveway. Or there is always a nice plowed driveway and mother nature decides to add a little ice to the mix. That is to be expected in Maine, its never just snow.
5.) The dish never works because I would have to walk in the woods through more then a foot of snow to clear it off. This is never OK with two, three year old that haven't been outside in over a week and can't watch any TV.

6.) Negative temperatures.

Although Maine winters are dreaded dearly by me there are a couple things that can make them a little easier to deal with.

1.) Feeling the excitement, when the first snow flies. Even if it is just a snow flake or two, the girls insist on putting all the winter gear and heading outside.

2.) My girls faces on Christmas morning, and all the fun Christmas traditions.

3.) Christmas music ( the girls and I love christmas music)

4.) The girls turn 4!!!

5.) Sledding, Mommy is just as much of a kid as the girls when it comes to sledding and our driveway is a perfect spot.

6.) Seeing the excitement on Ryleigh's face when I tell her she can finally wear her "pooties" (footie pajamas) again. She has asked everyday all summer long.

Good or bad it is coming and no way to prevent it, and there is no convincing Daddy we need to move there is no way we can take him out of Maine. As much as he dreads the winters like I do he would never live without them.

  1. I like the pros and cons you write.

    Have a nice weekend.

  2. WOW! I can totally understand your love/hate relationship with snow...I've never lived in it, but can imagine. Bundling up two kids to go outside must be a tiresome task!
