Little Ladies Hair Clips.

What started out as providing hair clips for the girls new school clothes quickly went to a hobby mixed with a little OCD... then to hopefully a craft fair project. I have made hundreds of these bows. I started with a basic style adding colors and patterns. You should see me at the craft store I am in total concentration and the OCD comes out a little lol. I have made as of today 4 sets of 10, 6 clip packs plus 10, 2 clip birthday packs and 4, 7 clip packs of days of the week. That is a total of 288 and I have many more ideas with different styles to make as well. I wanted to get all of these done before moving on to other styles. Some of the names I have come up with for color patterns are Sugar and Spice, Funky Town and more. I am excited to have a hobby, between work and kids there is not a lot of mommy time but I love doing this so much I MAKE TIME. I hope to find a great craft fair to hit up this winter, I am trying to convince Momma to make some crafts too. After all I do get a lot of my craftiness from her! I am willing to guess by the huge amount she had stuffed into her basket the other night at AC Moore she will be crafting up a storm. She was a lucky duck though she got all of her stuff for 40% off! I was really excited for her and can't wait to see her creations. Look for us this year craft fair... somewhere.

None of these bows have been added to clips yet, I will be ordering a huge bulk order of clips soon. It takes no time to attach these to clips.

Monday Stress

Today I just can't shake the stress. Chris is starting night shifts tonight which always makes things more stressful. I like to have his company here at night and the girls miss him terribly. The only plus sides to nights is he can get the girls on the bus in the morning which means I get to work earlier and don't start when we are knee deep in patients already. My patience is thin today and I am trying to get ahead of myself so I can relax and enjoy the evening with the girls but there are a million things to do hanging over my head and I can't find the motivation for any of it. All I want to do is sit and do nothing but my OCD will get the best of me. I am off to finish my load of laundry, make sure the girls have shower, pick up from dinner and pack lunches and get out outfits for tomorrow.  Can I just say that I totally understand my moms need for us to play outside.... The girls are so cute with starting school but having 2 almost 6 year olds running through our anything but large house is a bit overwhelming at times. Especially since now that they are in school all day and want to be with us in the evenings our living room is usually turned into a bus, school or a camp site. I think I will relax this evening by listening to lithium on Sirius radio and make hair clips. :)  That is, when the two cutest kindergartners are in bed ; )

I love you Ryleigh and Devan (oh boy you are fighting again, I guess I should go play referee)

School pictures.

So tomorrow is school picture day, I have always envisioned myself as one of those mom's at the school fixing their child's hair before getting their picture taken. A little reality added and  I don't even get to do the girls hair before they go to school. I guess I glorified school picture day in my mind.  I have to work in the morning and Chris is getting the girls ready for school.  I am a little bummed that I can't get the girlies ready myself but I am really happy they have a daddy involved enough to be willing to do their hair and walk them to the bus stop <3

On another note Chris took me fishing today and I caught my first bass, two and a half pounds! I also caught 2 pickerels.  We had a great day together, while Nanny and the girls went to the ocean to look for sea shells and have a picnic.

Upta Camp

My brother, sister in law (this sounds funny because she has been my best friend since high school) the girls and my niece and nephew went to camp the last week in August. We went to Auroa Maine, deep in the woods with no power and no body around for miles and miles. We did see one person on a boat out on spectacle pond. The water was just feet from the front deck, there was a gas stove for cooking and plenty of space to hang out and have some good quality family fun. I caught my first fish up to camp when Crystal and I took the canoe out while my brother was at the shore line with two-five year olds a four year old and a one year old. We roasted marshmallows by the camp fire, swam, played games and took a couple boat rides. Our trip was ended short because of hurricane Irene but by the time we left we were all ready to come home and have a long hot shower.

Pictures of the first couple days of school.

Kindergarten has begun!

The girls started school on Wednesday, on Tuesday we all rode the bus to school for a couple hours for a visit. It brought back memories of riding the bus with Chris way back in elementary school. One of my very best friends from school just bought a house down the rode from us she she and her Son Elijah also rode with us. Ryeigh and Devan are in separate classes this year, there are three classes and it just to happened that Elijah was not in either of their classes : /  Elijah has a big sister Bekah who is in first grade this year and when the bus pulls up to our house you can see both Bekah and Elijah's faces glued to the windows smiling ear to ear waiting for the girls to join them on the bus. Tanya, Elijah and Bekah's mom and I are so excited that our kids get to share their elementary experiences together.

The girls classes are night and day from each other which has my OCD flaring up a bit but I know they will do just fine.

A converstation or two from the first day of school

Ryleigh: "Devan my best friend this year is a boy and I picked him to be my best friend because he is cute."
Devan: "Why don't you ask him to be your boyfriend?"
Ryleigh: "Because I don't want a boyfriend, you can have him"
Devan: " I would have to break up with Cameron."
Ryleigh: " Cameron moved to Alaska Devan so you are all good"
Devan: "Mom how long does it take to get to Alaska?"
Mommy: " I don't want to hear the term boyfriend for another 15 years"

The girls reaction to Daddy picking them up on Wednesday afternoon.
"Why are you here already?"  (the girls are in an after school program and can be there until 5:30 every night. Where it was the first day Chris went to pick them up earlier around 4 so they wouldn't miss us.... I guess they were all set.
Two beautiful twin girls and a loving Mommy and Daddy
