Fall

I better get a move on with some fall posts before winter sets in. You can feel it in the air, that point when you know there is no return for warm weather. We have had the last of our warm days for this year. We were spoiled really, we were so used to the warm sun this October that the chills hit us like a ton of bricks. It is was a whole 23 degrees out yesterday when I started my car :( I am hope with a sick kid today. Boo, poor Ry. I literally made it through an hour of work. A big 4 flu shots :( Randi, the kids and I headed to Beth's farm stand this past weekend for a hay ride, corn maze, petal tractors and apple cider. The girls and I have gone every year for the past four years! Last year we went with Randi and Cody, no Hai baby obviously ;)

Im falling behind.

I am falling behind blogging. Other then Ry's day with my on Sunday there is really nothing substantial to blog about anyway. We have had fun, carving pumpkins, playing with friends and being a family, pretty much what my entire blog represents, I'm slacking when it comes to documenting these memories. I have to admit it is a pet peeve of mine when people post a small blog about a blog post to come. Today this is me... I guess this is just my way of saying, we are still here and will update soon :)

Halfway there :)

Halfway to the weekend and we are surviving by camping out on the floor, spirit week, sneaking in bed with Momma, carving pumpkins, reading and snuggles :)

Girls night

Saturday night was girls night :) some drinks and laughs at Park Street Grill.

One On One

I started my day with Devan by spending an extra couple minutes with Ryleigh getting her ready to go with Nanny for the day. We picked out a pink outfit for the Breast Cancer Walk in Belfast and put a support ribbon in her hair :) I can't believe how mature and grown up my little girl is. Give her a task and she will make sure she does it and makes you proud. When Ry headed off I got in the shower while Devan, Chris and Saiga played outside. Chris was in and out and Devan kept herself entertained with her owl Woodland and playing horses. Next we headed to Hailey's 7th Birthday Party. On the way I got Devan a Blue Raspberry Coolatta from Dunc's. She read the whole way to the party (Junie B Jones of course) At the party she played with Kaylee, read in the bean bag chair then we headed to the park. It was fun watching her every move. I didn't have to share my eyes and ears, it was all her :) She played for a while, then wanted to take Woodland for a walk in the stroller. We ended up walking to the Library where we sat and read two books. The last book she picked was a picture book. I recorded her story and it is so sweet. She has a lot of little girl in her still and I LOVE it :) We also renewed her Library card so she got a couple new Junie B Jones books. When we got home she curled up on the couch and read some more :) I think her total reading time for the day was one hundred and thirty five minutes :) Go Doop. Ry came home and showed off her loot from her day with Nanny :) She picked matching stuffed animal dogs for her and Devan (such a sweetie pie) We colored at the table then dinner and a game as a family. I wish there were more days to spend time with just one of my girls. I love them so much. I love spending time with all of us too but there is something special about putting all your effort and love into just one child for a day. Today Devan wore a dress (no surprise, it's all she wears now) her hair in pig tails and went to the party pushing her stuffed owl (and a book) in a stroller. She is such a little girl <3 Ryleigh is maturing faster then Devan. The other day at the store I found Ryleigh posing with the manikins, he he he. She likes certain outfits but they are not dresses like Devan they are cute sweaters and plaid and all things girly and cute. I love them both so very much.

Ryleigh all ready for the walk.

Woodland heading to the party ;)

Keepin' on.

Girlies had a busy weekend. Sleep over at Nannies. Nanny Grampy and the girls have made a yearly tradition to go to the pumpkin festivities in Damariscotta. Every  year they love if more and more.

Sunday was Garrett's 2nd birthday party :) Happy Birthday Gare Bear.

Sunday night the girls went to Grammies to spend the night because Momma had to work Monday and there was no school. All of the cousins got together and had so much fun together :)

The girls were telling me all about Christopher Columbus Day. They had fact galore. I hated history and next to nothing sunk into my skull. Girls must take after daddy here.

Sunset from the weekend, so pretty.

Looks like this weekend just may lead to some one on one for each of the girls. This excites me.

Warm October Days

Fall is like one big holiday, or a really long Christmas Eve. It's an  introduction to the holiday season ahead. Each year when fall returns it feels so familiar and cozy. I love everything about fall, it touches on all of your senses which is why it's such an inviting time of year for me. We have a few days out of the year where you can get away with any attire, pants, shorts, short sleeves, long sleeves, it all works. Summer days make me long for a few seconds of winter and winter days make me want to escape to summer for a day or two. On great fall days like we had this past weekend it's almost like weather doesn't exist because there is nothing to complain or desire, just plain old perfect temperatures and chill free breezes with plenty of sun <3

I told the girls to take in as much as the bright blue sky as they can because soon we will be left with a dull grey sky.

Add all the things I love about fall to spending time with family and friends and  life doesn't get better.

Saturday consisted of spending time with Randi, Cody, Hailey and the girls. Train rides, park, candy store, walks and dinner <3 = Love =)

Busy weekend :)

This weekend will be crammed packed full of fun :)

Tonight the girls and I headed over to Karens after we said bye to Daddy. Karen and I played cards while the girls watched Rio with uncle bill.

Tomorrow we have a soccer game at 9:00

Followed by a Toys for Tots train ride. You ride for free when you bring an unwrapped gift to donate to Toys For Tots. Randi, Cody and Hai baby are coming too :)

Sunday the girls and I are heading to Momma B's (Grammy's) to spend time with the whole family! So excited to see everyone!!!!!

The girls after school tonight <3 so cute!

I hope to relax and enjoy every part of this weekend.

Sometimes summer needs an extension

When summer ends too quickly, pile in the car on a fall night and head to get ice cream :) City lights set a perfect scene where a summertime tradition brings you back for just one more night <3

We have the girls to thank for this memory <3  AND my dear crockpot that cooked all day while I slaved away at work.  The girls were not taking no for an answer tonight. We ditched routines and schedules to fit in sporadic family time. I know we made the right choice. I will look back and be happy with our choice, i try to avoid thinking I should have made time. We ended the night with our chores checked off besides a sink full of dishes that can wait. When my kids are grown I won't have an excuse for a messy house but in the meantime messes win over missing out on memories.
