Winter Storm Warning

If you are one of those crazy annoying Mainers who think spring should be here now, come to terms with reality and the fact that March is a winter month here and we still get snow into April. Spring will come when it's time. I love spring because summer follows but spring can be hard to find and decipher when it's finally hit. It also brings lots of rain and honestly I would rather have snow. So hang on we will get there just have patience and ride out these last few storms :) I myself will enjoy the last of winter because I love it. I could never imagine living anywhere other then Maine.

Art Night at School

They sang, found their art on the wall and took an hour to pick out a book and poster at the book fair. Overall it was a good night.

Cheer Comps

Cheer Competitions with a side of Momma Bear.

So my girls went to cheer competitions, they didn't "make it" they are kids they can all go. Their team consisted of 16 or 17 girls (very cute girls) They rode a big bus (with tables!) to Bangor. Painted nails ate snacks, did hair, hung out with their teammates and coaches and prepares (as much as you can) to cheer for the first time every in a competition in front of 100's (and 100's) of people. Their coaches were AWESOME with the girls. None of the girls had a background in Gymnastics and for most of them this was their first year of cheer! They learned a A LOT. One, (not so easy) was learning how to lose. Boo, it is hard to watch your child not even get the opportunity to win because the competition is out of this world. Not that the winning girls shouldn't have taken the spotlight because regardless, they were not competing against little robot kids, they were actual kids that had worked their tail off to get where they were. Maybe their entire lives, all year long but hard work is hard work. The other teams ROCKED it. They inspired our girls. It wasn't a total loss at all the girls had a ball! They did wonderful and their coaches made it so much fun for them. They had a BIG group of girls too which made practicing difficult. The fact that our girls came from practicing in a class room to out in front of all of those people says a lot for them! I felt like I was going to vomit when they stepped on the mat. Ryleigh looked terrified (but she was there with her team and did great!) Devan was smiling and going about her business being silly (nothing new) Both of the girls want to continue with cheer, our high school does well at competitions, HS comps must weed out some of the year round bigger cheer teams. With this being said, we are going to look into more practice for the girls. This area doesn't offer a lot but we will find something. My girls open up well, especially Devan, (personality wise), Ryleigh (skill wise). But at first they are shy and reluctant. The more we involve them with now the more they will shed the uncomfortable feeling they get by trying something new. T ball will start soon, this is their 2nd year and they are excited for it! I am hoping to find an option for Gymnastics for the girls. If not this year then maybe next year!

Practicing hard!

The big day!
